"Wishin' and Waitin' and Hopin' and Prayin'..."

One of my many passions is to bake or cook or anything involving creativity and food, if that makes sense. In fact, as I was preparing for graduation from Liberty University, it was custom in my department of study, to hold a Senior banquet in which everyone receives a superlative...mine, if you know me well enough, was that I would be "The Next Martha Stewart". My nack for cooking and baking with little effort, really is credited to the talent that God so graciously gave me (for a reason...I use this ability for ministry in the mission field of all place) and the fact that in my spare time for the last couple of years and even here in South Africa, you will find me with my nose in a book! But not just any book...it is usually a cookbook...or cooking magazine...or any book, big or small that is filled with pictures of food, recipes, tips, techniques, or even critical articles about the newest foodie fad! If you do not find me with my cup of joe and a cookbook, you will find me in the kitchen where my creative juices overflow into everything that I touch...or so it seems...as of late they have been pumping faster than I can get my own food ideas down on paper! But I have taken advantage of that! In fact I have been finding contests to enter on various websites to put my creativity to use...the latest one I entered happened to be Martha Stewart's "Cutest Cupcake" contest. In fact if you log into marthastewart.com you will find my entry to be the same image as above and my screen name is usaafrican...so go to her website, get a login name and rate my cupcake! So, while I realise the competition is quite hight and the chances of my cupcake being selcted as one of the top 10 is quite low...I am still "Wishin' and Waitin' and Hopin' and Prayin'..." that someday my dream of one day being on the Martha Stewart show will come true...even if it is just by having a picture of my cupcake presented as one of the top 10!
